  • Lowcountry in Transition Support Group : Charleston-based support group for transgender adults and those exploring their gender identity. (Speak with your therapist for more details on how to join)

    We Are Family : We Are Family is a non-profit located in North Charleston that provides support to LGBTQ+ youth (ages 12-24) through a variety of resources, including peer discussion groups, name change workshops, gender affirming gear, and mental health assistance (to name a few).

  • The Map Advancement Projectincludes maps outlining current healthcare policies for LGBTQ+ people by state. You can review the laws impacting both private insurance and state employee healthcare plans by state using the maps here.

    The Trans Health Project by Adovates 4 Trans Equality offers a tutorial on applying for health insurance, understanding your plan, and appealing denials. Also offered en Español.

    QueerMed provides supportive and affirming care for the transgender community via telehealth. They provide HRT (gender affirming hormone replacement therapy) utilizing an informed consent model via telehealth to those located in the south east including SC, NC, GA, and FL.

    Truesdale Medical: provides LGBTQ+ inclusive healthcare services in North Charleston, including primary care, PrEP, and Addyi.

    Planned Parenthood: offers gender-affirming hormone therapy, preventative healthcare screenings, STI Testing, pregnancy testing, birth control, abortions, and HIV services.

  • Point of Pride: Offers financial aid and direct support to trans folx in need of health and wellness care. Financial aid is available for electrolysis/laser hair removal, HRT, gender affirming surgeries, and more. Also provides free chest binders & femme shapewear.
